Day Trippin' Texas South Texas

South Texas

South Texas

South Texas is a wide open desert region of expansive ranches, long-lasting stretches of road and thickets of mesquite. You can drive great distances and see nothing but cactus. The origins of the people in this area range from Alsatian to Polish and, of course, Mexican.

The proximity to Mexico makes day trips across the border for shopping and to experience the authentic Mexican food quite simple. This area of Texas also attracts a number of Snowbirds and recreational vehicle travelers from Canada and the US Mid-West seeking respite from colder northern climates during the winter months.
