With so many great places in Texas to see the sun come up, there could be thousands of “best” sunrises each and every day.
So sit back for a few minutes and soak in some Texas sunrise beauties!
Sunrise at Fort Leaton in West Texas
Fort Leaton sunrise by Gary Nored
The original adobe structure at Fort Leaton was a private residence dating back to the early 1830s. It was purchased in 1848 by Benjamin Leaton, who adapted it as a fortress.
Through murders, financial difficulties and abandonment, the structure changed hands numerous times.
In 1967, it was deeded to the state of Texas and opened to the public in 1978 as a Texas State Historic Site.

Old Church in Terlingua

A great sunrise over the Old Church in Terlingua with the mystical Chisos mountains of Big Bend in the background. This old adobe church, built in 1885, has been serving the faithful in Terlingua since the earliest mining days which ran from the 1880s to 1940s.

You can see for miles in this sunrise photo from Vaughn. Love it!
Vaughn is half a mile east of Aquilla Lake and nine miles southwest of Hillsboro in south central Hill County. Settlement in the community of Vaughan dates back to the latter half of the nineteenth century.
